1. Who this policy covers
LocalShopCart, operated by Minervit LLC, based in Ohio, USA, provides the Butcher application and online ordering software to participating local shops, including Special T Meats. “We” and “us” mean LocalShopCart, operated by Minervit LLC. This policy covers information handled through our Service about visitors, customers, Shop owners and staff, and people contacting support or submitting feedback.
The Shop shown on your storefront receives your order and contact details to manage its customer relationship and fulfill your request. It is responsible for its own in-store activities, payment handling, and uses of information outside our Service. We operate the platform and process order information to provide it to the Shop. Contact either us or the Shop if you are unsure who should handle a privacy request; we will help route it.
2. Information collected and where it comes from
- Contact and account information: your name, email address, phone number, account and authentication records, verification status, Shop affiliation, and staff role where applicable. When you accept an agreement through the Service, we record the accepting account and Shop, the agreement and acceptance-text versions, and the acceptance time; selected plan details are also recorded where applicable. Current checkout requires an email address and email verification; an account is optional for guest ordering.
- Orders and customer preferences: requested products, cuts, quantities, weights, notes, pickup date and time, price estimates or recorded prices, order history, and status changes. Information may come from you or authorized Shop staff handling your request.
- Communications and choices: support correspondence, feedback, SMS opt-in choices, the disclosure version and time associated with consent, unsubscribe or suppression records, verification requests, and message delivery information received from delivery providers.
- Technical and security information: browser/session identifiers, authentication and verification events, request and error information, and security logs generated as you use the Service. Such records may include network identifiers such as IP addresses. In-app feedback includes release/build identity so we can investigate the version you used.
- Browser storage: cookies and local storage supporting sign-in, guest carts, verification, and available preferences, as explained in our Cookie and Browser Storage Notice.
Do not put payment card details, government identification numbers, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information in order notes or feedback. If you provide allergy or dietary information, it will be available to the Shop for handling your request; contact the Shop directly to confirm it can meet your needs.
Payment is taken in person at pickup. The Service does not currently collect online payment-card details or offer online deposits or refunds. The Shop's handling of an in-store payment is separate from this Service.
3. Why we use information
We use information to route, prepare, manage, and communicate about pickup requests; maintain accounts and verified contacts; send requested verification messages and permitted order notifications; honor opt-outs; support Shop operations and order records; investigate feedback and technical problems; protect against fraud and unauthorized access; and meet applicable legal obligations or resolve disputes.
A pickup order remains pending until the Shop's Head Butcher reviews and confirms it. We never guarantee fulfillment before confirmation. These operational uses do not authorize marketing texts or sale of customer information.
4. Who receives information
The Shop. Your selected Shop and its authorized staff receive the information needed to manage your request and customer relationship. Customer information is not made public merely because you order or submit feedback.
Service providers. We use providers that support hosting, storage, email delivery, SMS delivery, and technical operation. For example, our SMS delivery uses Twilio. We provide information needed for those functions, not permission to use your information for their own advertising. See the additional SMS restrictions below.
Legal and safety needs. We may disclose information if legally required by valid process, or where legally permitted and reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, secure the Service, or protect people's rights or safety. These are limited purposes, not permission to sell information or bypass SMS consent restrictions. Legally compelled disclosure is handled as required by law.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes. We do not use customer order information for targeted advertising. A business restructuring does not by itself authorize a new marketing use or transfer of SMS opt-in consent contrary to the commitments below; applicable notice and consent requirements continue to apply.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
5. SMS text messaging program
If you opt in at checkout, LocalShopCart (Minervit LLC) sends you order-status text messages on the shop's behalf — for example when your order is accepted, ready, or declined. Each message is prefixed with the shop's name, so a text about a Special T Meats order begins “Special T Meats via LocalShopCart”. This program is limited to your own order updates; we do not send marketing texts.
- Message frequency varies based on your order activity.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to cancel text messages at any time, or HELP for help.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
SMS order updates are optional. Providing a phone number or accepting general terms does not opt you in. A verification message you request is separate from recurring order-status consent. We retain consent and suppression records to apply your choices and document the messages we are permitted to send. Requesting a new order does not by itself remove an existing opt-out. Contact support@localshopcart.com for help.
6. Cookies and browser storage
The Service uses browser storage for functions such as keeping you signed in, reconnecting a guest cart, and remembering a verified contact on a returning visit. The guest-cart storage value is a random identifier rather than a copy of your name, contact details, or cart contents. A verification cookie identifies a server-held verification record. These identifiers are still associated with your use of the Service and should not be treated as anonymous information.
See our Cookie and Browser Storage Notice for controls and the effects of clearing storage. Clearing storage does not delete server-held orders or withdraw SMS consent.
7. Retention
We keep order records because they are the accounting and dispute history for the Shop, and we do not delete them. Currently, customer order and feedback records have no scheduled automatic deletion date. Closing an account does not delete those records. Where the law requires us to delete your personal information, we honor the request by removing or redacting the personal information in an order record and keeping the accounting record itself. We also honor requests to correct or restrict the use of information where required by law.
Short-lived technical data, including sign-in rate-limit entries, checkout verification codes, abandoned guest carts, and public order-lookup attempt logs, is subject to scheduled cleanup. Expiration of a code or session can occur before its related record is removed. Browser storage, server records, and backups can have different lifetimes.
Consent and opt-out records may need to remain to demonstrate permission and prevent unwanted messages. We assess privacy requests against the records involved, applicable obligations and exceptions, and the need to preserve relevant dispute or security evidence. Where the law requires us to delete personal information, we delete or redact it; where an exception applies, we tell you which records we keep and why. Removal from backups can take additional time.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
Contact legal@minervit.ai to ask about information we hold or request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. We honor deletion requests where required by law. Identify the Shop and enough detail to locate your account or order; do not send passwords, verification codes, or payment card numbers. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply to us and the request, you may have rights to a copy of information, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or an appeal of a decision. Authorized-agent requests are accepted where required. We will explain an applicable exception or refusal and available appeal steps. You may contact us to request reconsideration and may complain to an appropriate privacy regulator. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Use STOP for SMS opt-out and the unsubscribe method in order emails to stop those updates. Opting out of an update channel does not cancel your order or erase it; contact the Shop about fulfillment. Necessary account/security communications and verification messages you separately request serve different purposes from optional recurring updates.
9. Security, location, and children
We use access controls, verification, and other safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security. Protect private order links, devices, account credentials, and codes, and report suspected unauthorized access to support.
The Service currently serves participating U.S. Shops. Information is processed using our hosting and delivery providers; provider operations may involve locations outside your state or country. We do not promise that all information remains in a particular jurisdiction. If a legally required international-transfer arrangement applies, it must be in place for that transfer.
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.
10. Changes and contact
We will post updates with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate or required. We will obtain consent where required before using previously collected information in a materially different way. Policy updates do not retroactively create marketing or SMS consent.
